UK Power Networks Services staff volunteer to help local school in Tongham

16 August 2018: Around two dozen of our people took time out to volunteer and help St Paul’s Church of England Infant School and Children Centre in Tongham.

Activities included improving and upgrading the garden and play areas, putting in planters, refurbishing a memorial bench and installing a children’s water activity feature. The power company encourages all its employees to spend two days annually volunteering in their local community.

Sian Bath, joint director of Nurturing Childcare, said: “We can’t thank the teams enough for all their hard work. They are an inspiration to us all as their imagination and creativity with the resources they have added was amazing. The children were so excited to see and explore the nursery garden. The parents have also all commented on how amazing it all looked. The children will get many hours of excitement and fun exploring and learning in this new environment.”
