New Graduates To Keep Our Clients Moving

30 November 2017: Five graduates have kick started their careers with us and are ready to learn how to keep critical national electrical infrastructure fully operational 24/7.

Our graduates will be working on site with a number of our clients including Heathrow Airport, Network Rail and London Underground. They have been placed in key roles working alongside our engineers learning from the best in the industry.

Competition for the graduate programme was as fierce as ever. A total of 1,600 applications were received across the UK Power Networks group, resulting in nearly 90 graduates vying for each position. After a rigorous selection process 18 graduates were employed by the group, with five of them joining UK Power Networks Services.

Our new recruits will work as graduate quantity surveyors, project managers, electrical design engineers, innovation engineers and in technology-based roles in locations across the UK.

Ian Smyth, Director of UK Power Networks Services, said: “Our new diverse group of graduates have already proved they are the best and brightest and I look forward to seeing the impact they will have delivering for our clients.

“We are building our future workforce with talented individuals who have the skills and ambition needed to ensure that we continue to deliver safe, secure and reliable energy solutions for our clients.”
